December is a month stuffed with celebrations, festivities and a little over indulgence. As the days draw in and the weather becomes rather cold and dreary, it is a time for family and friends to come together, to celebrate and to share. When it comes to food, at Daylesford Cookery School we embrace Christmas entertaining in style, filling the kitchen with aromas of winter flavours, seasonal spice and traditional recipes.
With an abundance of winter ingredients, the December larder has plenty of seasonal staples to inspire festive menus. For the best organic produce, try to support local suppliers, farm shops and farmers markets. The produce will still be plentiful, colourful and full of nutrition; at Daylesford we have a variety from the Market Garden; from earthy rich beetroot, to nutty flavoured Brussel sprout, winter cabbages in many forms and of course carrots and parsnips in their abundance. Our high welfare bronze Turkey’s are succulent and full of flavour, reared here on the farm.
At the Cookery School we have a variety of courses to dazzle your dinner guests, entertain with ease and get your festive preparations underway. The Perfect Christmas Table offers tips and techniques, nibbles, stunning centrepieces and seasonal drinks. While, Effortless Christmas Entertaining Puddings focuses on tried and tested sensational desserts and Family Cooking Together at Christmas is the ultimate day out with a friend or a loved one.
