Daylesford Discusses: Vitamins & Minerals – Investigating the Need for Supplements
13th November 2017
Daylesford Discusses is a series of events held every other month across our farmshops. These evenings of discussion aim to illuminate a variety of issues close to our hearts, namely around the topics of health, wellbeing, sustainability, balance and conscious choices.
Our November discussion will examine the subject of supplementing. With an ever-growing interest in our health and wellbeing, there is a huge amount of information out there on what we should be supplementing our diets with, be it vitamins and minerals, powdered greens or a variety of other cleverly marketed lotions and potions.
In today’s world of intensive farming, can we really get all that our body needs from the food that we eat? And what about vegetarians and vegans – can they lead a nourished life without the need for supplements? Throughout the discussion we will ask a number of important questions of our expert panel, but perhaps most importantly, we will also be looking at the outcomes of the overuse or misuse of supplements and if supplementing in the wrong ways can lead to damage.
The panel has now been confirmed to include the following experts, each brilliant in their own diverse fields:
- Rhaya Jordan, Resident Nutritionist at Daylesford
- Mike Tanner, Senior Performance Specialist and Head of Learning and Development for Bodyism
- Dale Pinnock, The Medicinal Chef
- Margretta Britton, Get A Drip
- Bridget Arsenault, journalist and founder of Long Winded Lady Productions
We very much look forward to welcoming you for what will undoubtedly be an informative evening.
