Golden Almond Milk with Turmeric & Gentle Spices

INGREDIENTS

(Serves 2)
  • 300ml unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tsp runny honey
  • 4 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
  • 1 tsp fresh turmeric, grated
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 turn of black pepper
  • 2 slices of fresh ginger

Turmeric is anti-inflammatory but it is hard to absorb unless you serve it with a portion of good fat. This golden almond milk is an ancient, natural way to enjoy turmeric and is one of the best recipes to ensure that its health-giving properties are effective in your body.  Any loved ones experiencing aches, pains or sleepless nights during cold winter months should be introduced to a nourishing warm glass of this magnesium-rich and wonderfully soothing nectar.

METHOD

DIFFICULTY: Easy 5 MINS

In a small pan, heat the almond milk with all of the other ingredients. Stir to dissolve the honey and bring to the boil briefly before turning off the heat. Leave to cool and infuse for two minutes before straining and serving warm.
